New and Profitable Outlet For Cereal And Rape Straw

Exciting developments are under way at the Eastern Machinery Ring (EMR) offering members an exclusive and viable outlet for cereal and rape straw. Such is the potential that EMR has established Eastern Machinery Ring Straw Services Limited (EMRSS) as a dedicated subsidiary for the project.

EMRSS is working with a straw pelleting business, which is investing £20 million over the next three years to supply a renewable energy source for the future. With a proposed site situated in a central location suitable for all EMR members who wish to supply the pelleting plant.

“The implication for our members is nothing but good,” says EMR general manager Philip Brown. “It will provide an income through a pool system against contract, with an initial forward payment. Recent press articles have shown that growers leaving straw for baling are achieving quite considerable fuel savings over chopping and incorporation. EMRSS have available professional members who operate low ground pressure balers and bale chasers to help reduce damage to soil structure.

“Work is underway to make this exciting opportunity a reality for this year’s harvest. We urge members to register interest so that we can take the project forward as swiftly as possible.”

To register interest call general manager Philip Brown on 01603 881810 or 07501 729358.
